Got a C4 and D20 out of a 76 bronco. Both in good shape, but I'd rebuild the C4 just because of age. Thinking about selling them to fund a LS1 project for my 65 Impala, but don't know what they're worth. Any suggestions on where to set the price? If they're not worth much, they'll just stay in the garage til I can use em anyway

I don't know where you live, but here in WA trying trying to find a 4x4 c4 with or without the t-case is a rare find. I can't even find the tailshaft to convert my c5 into a 4x4 case they are all the manuals trannys. It took me forever to find a dana 20. I usually see the combo go between 350-600 and that is directly pulled from the bronco and probably needs a rebuild. Just search some craigslist adds to see what others want for them, that usually marks the price on where you live.

I'd have to agree. Seacrh Craigslists, and price your according to ones on there.

And, here in Washington, I would say it would probably go for $450-550 as is, and probably close to 800-900 rebiult. But those are just rough guesses for my area. Hell, I would have paid 600 for my manual tranny I swapped into my truck (cheaper to buy an $800 Explorer and take the tranny out of that, and part it out). Rebiult A4LD's go for upwards of $1000-1100 around here.

And yes, I know both the trannies I described are from Rangers, not a 70's Bronco.

I look on craigslist every 3-4hrs just to see what's new, and have never seen a C4 or D20 on it. :icon_rofl: We'll see what I can work on the LS1, might not need to sell these if they're getting that hard to find

Just the 4x4 C4 alone is worth about $400 at a junkyard here. They are pretty hard to find. Not sure about the D20, I'd guess around $200.

I got a 500 mile rebuilt d20 for $100, but that is after waiting about 1.5 years to find one at that price. Still can't find the c4 4x4, and the d20 is worth alot more attached to it. The same adaptor that ford uses to put the d20 to the c4 is offered by advanced adaptors for around $500. That is why the c4 4x4 is worth so much.

I gave 200 for the D20 in my Ranger. Thats been about 6-7 years ago though. Really its only worth what somebody who needs it is willing to pay. The more their need the more they will pay.....

Alrighty then, sounds like this is staying in the garage then. I'll just have to fund the LS1 project another way
