i was wondering if the crown vics with the 302 w/C4 have the smaller diameter bellhousing like the mustang II.

which one are you looking for? 164? 157?

Ususally they will be the big bellhousing. Reguardless either bellhousing will work. If you have the larger you will have to pull the raduis arm crossmember down if you are installing the trans from the bottom, unless you have a body or suspension lift.

The Mustang II bell was only used on the Mustang II's. It used a 147 tooth flexplate.

Don't recall when the current Crown Vic line started, but it was sometime in the 80's, could be they never had C-4's. The older full size Ford's and Merc's would have come with the big bell (164 tooth) C-4 (pan fill)

i have a 78 mustang II c4 small bellhousing and a matching 147 tooth 28 oz flexplate....
$100.00 for the pair plus shipping
