I worked on this today. The spring was cheap, but it was a real bugger to get over the D35 spline. It's on now though and ready to go in.
If you guys try this, make sure you wear a glove on the hand opposite the tool you are trying to use. I took a small chunk out of my left index finger. Also, it doesn't hurt to use a little silicone spray on the rubber boot. It will help it last a little longer and keep it flexible.
Synthetic wheel bearing grease is okay for the spline, right?
