has anyone used a c-6 in a swap or will this tranny work at all

A 4sp would be better, but thats my opinion.

im useing a c-6 with my 85 4x4 fits perfict with a np205 transfor case i used a stock ranger cross member and the stock tranny mount no drilling holes or anything bolts right in
