rebuilt my C-4 myself, put it in and had a leak between the bell and the case (being a dumb a$$ i forgot to check the pump bolts after i put my newly scored 2800 stall converter in).trans worked great but after leaving a very expensive stripe of B&M trick shift down the road i pulled it and found the loose bolts.
tightened those and thought i had it fixed (another dumb move)put it back in and still leaks.pulled it again today and removed the pump, broken gasket on the return side between the pump and the case.
my question is can i make this out of some gasket material or should i order one?i don't want to pull this f%$#@er again but i need to get this pig on the road.i only have a day or so to do this, off work and great weather as my shop is the great outdoors and it was 70 degrees today and 50 tomm.

i know theres some trans guys out there.............hook me up with your honest opinion.

Do-it-yourself gasket material is not the way to go. If memory serves the gasket material used for the pump to case is a thin material, and most gasket 'cut and use' paper is thicker. Made more for stuff that is not under pressure, or very very limited pressure. Considering the transmission is pumping at some pretty decent pressure values?

Order in the right gasket and do it right. If you try to take the easy way out? It might or might not work---and a few extra bucks is well worth not having to drop the transmission again to repeat the same job.
