My credo
Drive it forever if you can.
Seems like my once new 94 decided it was done.
Literally bought new right off the transport. First person to drive it on a real street and last person to drive it on a real street.

Ya see either the interior blower motor shorted or the speed resistor shorted. Caught the leaves on fire that accumulated in the duct work.Dark out, unable to get blower motor off to save it.

Was a great vehicle for 27 years. Unreplaceable really. 20210202_200406.jpg

Did you walk in the pawn shop after it was put out to see what theyd give you for it?

In all seriousness though, that's a bummer. sorry it had to end that way.

dang...

sorry to see that happen to you.

ouch!! Glad you're okay and hopefully no one injured.
I'm still driving my 94. And like you I purchased it new although not right off the transport.

RIP.

Wow that's terrible, sorry for the loss, especially since you are the original owner. My old 94 4x4 just nickeled and dimed me to death with drivetrain issues; there were times when I wanted to go the gas can and road flare route.

Sorry for your loss.

That is a terrible thing.

I thought newer trucks were more or less immune to it.

I try to clean my cowl out once a year, it is pretty easy to do.

I think this is the fourth truck fire on here because of debris buildup catching on fire with the resistor.

Thanks all thought I would show the scary pic. Truck was perfect, but nothing lasts forever. Here is the real scary story. It started by a filling station. Managed to safely get it to the pawn shop while fire was just a flicker. The condition was so nice before the fire insurance gave me more than 3k for it.
