I have a 99 ranger 4x4 4.0 with the 5r55e mated to a 1354 trans fer case
I would like to swap the 1354 transfer case for a bw4405 i have the 4405 and the gcm for the clutch now as far as i can tell the only real difference between the two cases is the transfer case clutch in the 4405 What do you guys think is there anything els i would need is this even a doable deal boath cases are prity much the same dimensions

Explain carefully why you want the 44-05?

Yes, the 44-05 has an internal clutch.
that clutch is the ONLY drive to the front axle
when that clutch fails you no longer have 4x4.

there is also a clutch in the 13-54, but that clutch only "spins up" the front
before the shift motor is activated to mechanically engage the front output.
