So yeah hi all Houston tx, it's a 94 2.3 xlt ranger ,131k, rebuilt trans swap at111k, solenoid caused starting issue fixed within past 5 years, recent tune up, minimal leak at rear of trans where the axle goes in...get to drive for work tomorrow and get inspection before the sale is final, what should I look/listen/feel for tomorrow when I'm drivin around,ie on the freeway?../in neighborhoods?...thanks in advance from what ive read so far I've come to the right place...

Hi, and welcome. I'm in Houston, too. If you need help with it, you can bring it by and I can give it a look over.

Pretty much, with a truck with those miles, it could be anything really. We don't worry about rust down here.

I'd suggest pay attention to balljoints or other clacking / popping sounds coming from the front end, and see if it's a comfortable ride for the most part. If it shifts well, and the engine runs ok, you're good to go. A tune-up can mean anything, and sometimes doesn't mean much.

I would be asking about the rubber timing belt and water pump...when were they last changed. This can cost you some labor $ if you don't want to do yourself and can leave you stranded pretty quickly if ignored too long.
Take a good look at electrical systems...lights and all that.
