My credo
Doing things wrong, until I get it right.
Is there a kit available that has ALL the bushings for my '01 Edge 2wd
30006

i was hoping somebody had a link or some info on what they used for 2wd set-up. no off road equipment, just a plain 2wd with torsion bar suspension

All of my automotive knowledge ends in 1995/1996, sorry buddy!

The upper circle is actually a grease seal for the upper ball joint. Probably only comes with an upper ball joint.

I'm sure someone makes a kit with all the front end bushings... try energy suspensions

To get you by until you find what you need, cut an appropriate length of rubber garden hose and use that for a boot.

Or remove the grease fitting and install an automatic greaser. (Just kidding)

upper circle: looked like there was some blue bushing in that dead space. i know that is a grease fitting on top

Floored... are you related to Red Green? Wait... you would have suggested duct tape.

As mentioned above, there should be a cup-shaped grease seal there. They usually come with the new ball joint. You may be able to buy it separately. But.... If it has been missing for a while, then that ball joint is probably beginning to fail due to intrusion of dirt and water. You may want to plan on replacing the joint soon. I just found out with my F150 that that ball joint comes pre-installed in a new control arm. Not terribly expensive for the whole assembly.

Thanks for all the info, suspensions have always been a dark scary place for me and this will be my first attempt at anything not a Nissan. Which is OK because it too was a torsion bar suspension, so hopefully some of it will seem familiar.

PartsW 10 Piece Suspension Kit for Ford Ranger & Mazda B2300 B2500 B3000 B4000 Upper Control Arms, Lower Ball Joint, Outer & Inner Tie Rod Ends and Sway Bar Links

Saw this 10 pcs. set on Ebay for $123.00 doesn't say anything about torsion bars, are these components the same on both types of suspension?

PartsW 8 Piece Suspension Kit for Ford Mazda & Mercury Front Left & Right Upper Control Arm Outer Tie Rods Sway Bar lower Ball Joints/HEAVY DUTY For 2-Piece Design w/Torsion Bar Suspension ONLY

This is an 8 piece set for $80, and it does say for torsion bars. Is this what I need?

Any brands I should stay away from? I'm looking at some from DLZ, the ones above are from PartsW(?)

Trucks on blocks now, just trying to get her ready. When it cools off,(Late August/early Sept.) I plan on attacking this thing and having it hauling scraps again before next summer.

I believe they're both for torsion bar suspension... difference being the first has the inner tie rod ends.

As with all things... you really get what you pay for. My truck went north of 100K a bit ago... I'm sure I will replacing front end parts in the future. I won't be looking for the cheapest parts on Amazon when I do. That said... they might be good parts (but I doubt it).
