burned up shocks

I have an 03 two wheel drive ranger with front coil springs. their is no lift on the pickup or plans to yet. the problem is that I keep burning up stock shocks traveling over rough road. They only seam to last six mo. or so. I would appreciate any advice or tips anyone would have.

i think u should try some off road shocks. like rancho or bilstein

agreed. I dont know how bad the roads are or how hard you drive it but that is way to soon. a stiffer off road shock should last you a lot longer

get a shock with a lifetime warranty or find a new way home? ive had shocks last 10 years and 70% of the roads i drive are dirt.

Steer clear of rancho shocks. What shocks do you have on it now? If you go bilstein, know that it'll be a very stiff ride. I've got them... rough as hell.

Now why would you say a thing like that, even my lower end Ranch RS5000's are impressing me. In fact I am putting them on my '93 trail truck too.

I have Rancho RS9000 shocks up front and have been really happy with them. i have come to really like the fact that i can adjust them. The bilsteins i have in the rear are great too. no complaints about any of the shocks

rancho shocks are made by monroe, so they shouldnt be considered a garbage shock?
