Bundy Hill May 12th

Time to swap in a Cummins 4bt lol. Need a sas first. Anybody want to help me do head gaskets. I'm thinking of doing it myself.

It's fairly easy. I've done them on the Taurus 3.0 which is the same except the intake is different.

About how long did it take you to do them?

That was like 12 years ago. I think maybe 6hrs or less. I did it by myself but if I would of had help it would of been faster.

Make sure you get the heads machined and checked for cracks.
Hurry up! You should be able to get it down by Saturday.

I would love to be able to get it done by Saturday but we are extremely busy at work right now so it will be a few weeks before I get to it. Do you know a good machine shop?

Yeah, forgot about that. I replaced the heads with rebuilt ones cause was told that it might be.warped.

So do you think I should replace the heads or just get them machined?

Just a machining will do. At that time I didn't have access to a place that would do it for what I could afford.

Would love to but I wont have time for a couple weeks.

sampson, PM me i might be able to help ya out. im in the toledo area, the only problem is im pretty busy with other stuff.

I don't plan on doing it for a couple weeks but if I do I have to do the whole thing over a weekend. I would be working on it a work and they won't let people leave cars just sit in the parking lot for a week. So I would have to have it towed back home then back to work when the heads are done being machined which I don't want to do. Maybe tear it down Friday night and have the heads machined Saturday and reassemble Sunday. I will give the machine shop a call and see what they say.

Sounds like you have a plan.
