Bumpy Ride...Need Help

Hey guys,

I've been experiencing a very bumpy ride lately. I'm feeling every little pothole and even manhole cover. I don't mind a good bump when I do some off-roading (which isn't' very often), but when I'm on the street, I like a nice, comfortable ride. I need new shocks all around which I'm sure would help, but is there any particular brand or type that will give me the smoothest ride? Is there a good website to go to for them? Also, is there anything else I can do besides replace the shocks that would help? Anyone's input is appreciated!!!

Thanks,

Dave

Thanks ! I looked up Bilsteins and they look pretty good. I honestly don't mind paying a little more for a comfortable ride but these shocks appear to be more for off-roading than for regular street riding...although I could be wayyy off on this point. I was also looking at KYB and Monroe shocks (approx. $20-$40 per shock). How are these shocks for a decent street ride? Again, I'm doing little to no off-roading. Are Bilsteins worth the extra $$$ for the comfort ride or should I just go with the KYBs/Monroes and save the $$$?

Your thoughts??????

KYBs are pretty decent... Monroes I wouldn't bother with.

Bilstein is worth every penny though.

billstiens are worth ever penny, they are not a harsh ridiing shock at all.and soak up bumps very nice.

they are "firm" in a good control way, but soft enuff they wont rattle your teeth.but not so soft you will feel like your in a boat...

they are also a mono tube high pressure shock, so they dont have that "Dead" spot in them like some of the other shock brands that are pure hydrolic.

What ever you do DON'T get gabriel ultras... picked some up last year at autozone... worst shocks ever. I mise well have welded a rod in between the shock mounts. Even with a large amount of weight in the bed, camper shell and lumber racks towing a trailer they still ride like shit. Shoulda got bilsteins...
