My Splash does not have the frame extension that includes the front tow hooks.

Would like more protection for front, radiator, etc. but search results not specific to the Splash & no responses back from makers Ive queried.

So, I guess I have to assume a bar fitting a 4WD, XL, XLT, etc will not fit.

Any direct experience beefing up the front end of a Splash short of welding on a salvaged front "sub-frame" with tow hooks as suggested by another site/blog?

Thanks!

Seems like most bullbars produced these days are made of steel that's barely the thickness of exhaust tubing, and will fold themselves right back through the grille and into the rad in the event of a collision.

No doubt better than just the front bumper...

In some situations, mabey. In others.. not so much.

Same phenomenon happens with the HD plate-steel off road bumpers.. they can easily turn an accident that would've only ruined a 120$ factory bumper into one that will ruin a frame.

It's all a gamble really. Installing one *might* end up saving you some damage/money in the event of whatever... Or it might end up causing & costing more.

Good place to put lights though! That's a guarantee.

Excellent thots!

Too stiff/rigid may not always be best.

And once the frame is bent...

Thanks!
