Richard, Martin. Nice of you guys to show up!

Thanks for checking in guys, here's that update mike promised.
We got a bunch done tonight

We got the valve train all assembled and adjusted, then it was time to dress this beast. That means it's time for some beauty shots.

Mike is stoked

I think it looks pretty good, got the Edelbrock intake mounted up, plus a chrome water neck and some breathers (one is on a pcv, one is mocked up on a spark plug since the other pcv we had didn't fit that side's valve cover)
avynahys.jpg

It wasn't all smooth sailing though, we used Mr. Gasket brand header bolts to attach the intake, and thanks to a torque wrench/human/bolt team error we ended up with one bolt snapped and one pretty badly rounded off (I'm thinking they may have been defective, but it's also very likely we did something wrong)

Also mike had to modify one of the lift points for the engine so it would play nice with the new intake

After we got those dealt with it was all good, and we're ready to start playing with the trans, then fabbing up some mounts to get this thing in the car.

I have a Wednesday update, mike will have a Monday update later.

We threw the wheels back on temporarily. Had a minor camber issue before we put the lug nuts on.

Much to mike's dismay the heater box was lost in the struggle. We'll probably be deleting the heat and relegating this beast to summer status.

The transmission is in the car and attached. But the mount doesn't support the front so mike built this structure to provide some support.

Alright, so here is what Kenny and I did on Monday. Couldn't get tapatalk to work but now things appear to be remedied.

Our job was to clean up the trans and get it set up to mount. Which we did before... Later.

I got Kenny giving me a hand with the old brake clean and wire brush.

Much to our surprise the stock Acadian mount fit right up to the S10 trans.

We had to raise up the car some more so we put it on our beefiest jack stands.

Put the seat out of the way in the cabin.

Kenny even managed to hulk the pin in place for the engine stand.

Much to our surprise the driveshaft splines matched right up!

Going to do some measurements this weekend and order up the final batch of parts early next week. And it will be glorious.

Didn't get anything significant on the Pontiac done today. We still have some sorting out of a final parts order to do, but we did manage to get the new wheels on my brothers car.

I think it looks sharp. We'll be taking a small hiatus but stay tuned. More to come shortly.

Big parts order gone through this week. Give us a week or two and this thing will be right moving along.

Mike trimmed out the useless parts of the dash, and I popped out the front part of the heater box so we can repair it.

That's all for today

We've got two big parts orders that should be in tomorrow. Basically the only things we still have to source is a fuel pump, starter and water pump pulley.

Thursday update.
Mike and I played with the thing a bit today, mocked up some scoops, got some more shiny parts in, installed the rear shocks, and ditched the stock fuel tank.

We're gonna have to run this air cleaner sideways to clear the giant distributor we're running on this thing. Should work ok

Old blown out shocks vs. new load leveller shocks with helper springs. We did a super scientific get in the back of the car and jump test before and after and they made a huge difference.

That's it for today. More soon

Got a little done tonight. Got the spare tire jump cut out of the floor, sheet metal mocked into place and the fuel cell mocked up as well.
