Building a Bronco II in FL

what engine?

go tohome depot and buy some jigaloo and start hosing out the latches

Explodan is right about the locks. If they are that frozen up it is either the actuator or the door latches.

I have never used lizardskin but I would think any half decent bedliner plug a weathertech mat should hold up just fine.

Its a 2.9 and I will look into the lock issuse this weekend, hopefully. And I don't really want to have to do carpet and a floor liner, I think I'm going to just save up for the vinyl flooring and be done with it all. Anyone have that in theres? My ex had it in his stupid chevy and it seem to hold up well but he ain't as rough as I plan on being ;)

So I may have figured out why my truck didn't want to start up and run. I dropped the gas tank, drained it (which I've never seen that color orange as gas before) and when it dried out there was chunks of rust that fell out along with some mud stuff. And when I pulled out the assembly, I'm suprised that truck EVER ran! :icon_confused: There was atleast a 1 inch gap where the fuel line should have been attached to the fuel pump inside and my gas gauge probably didn't work because the floater was over half missing and corroded. The whole assembly has to be replaced cause its almost rusted through in parts of it and its just a mess. I'm not sure that I even want to price how much its going to be to replace it. I'm starting to think that this project is a lil more then I can handle on my own :dunno:

yaaaaaay for ethanol gas!!!!!!!

i see this allot.....rock auto has nice tanks for 80-100 bux...but senders can get pricey....

i was just in ocala recently but wont be back for awhile so i cant help ya but its pretty easy to fix

make sure your low pressure pump is working though.....that will be another 50 if you need it....but you can do some other mods to get around it though.

regardless you will have a working gauge and solid running fuel system for 2-250.....cant beat that bud:icon_thumby:

if you decide you dont want to deal with it i am looking for a good b2 chassis....and come through there often once we finish working up here....be a month or two i think.

Thanks for the info :icon_thumby: I found the whole assembly for about $100 through Napa and have been scrapping out all of the old crud that was in the tank for the past few days. Gunna put some Por15 in it before putting the tank back in. And as much as I sometimes want to give up on this project, its been a good sense of healing for me. My ex and I were supposed to make it and now I'm doing it on my own. I'm doing most of it but what I don't know, my dad is teaching me and helping me so its been a good father/daughter bonding project :icon_cheers:

So when I got home from work tonight, my fuel tank had a brand NEW assembly piece in it :yahoo: MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME! I was told that I can't use it until Christmas though :icon_rofl: haha like that will happen. Its going to be put in tomorrow night hopefully after work :headbang:

did you acid wash the goo out of the tank??

that crap is a giant pia to get out.

All the liquid and muck kinda stuff once it dried, came right out. Had to use a wire brush and got a lot of the rust out of the tank too and hopefully gunna be able to put it in tonight after work depending if its still raining or not
