Building a 1992 SCCA Replica

Cool. One glitch: It appears that the SCCA trucks were orgionally regular cabs.

Are you going to do a paint job like some of the pics of trucks sloating around, and would you mind taking a road trip down to NH when you're finished so I can see (and hopefully drive :D ) it when you're done?

No where in the rules say it has to be. But it would be a plus since it would be a lighter truck to start with.

Ya it will be painted the Black white yellow. Or the yellow white black.

I'd go with the paint style on the #19, except maybe do the black on the bottom w/ the while diving them.

you'd better include that awesome stroh's light ad :icon_twisted:

Thats a Jeep Commanche that ran the Stroh's..the Rangers were always yellow black and white.

I really wanted to do that paint scheme on the longbed Ranger I had, I really should have done it now that I look back on it, would have been fun! About as far as I got was slapping a SCCA Pro Racing sticker on the front bumper, lol.

So I got some motivation to get this thing going.

Got the engine ripped out of the 97 and pulled the trans as there was something living in the belhousing. I'll check the clutch as well.

Picked up a complete Gen2 underhood and engine harness, Should make the engine swap a ton easier.

Have to pull the motor mounts off the 97 chassis to put them on the 92. and switch over some fuel lines.

I did pick up a set of lights and light buckets for a Gen1. Thinking of switching it to a Gen 1 front clip, with a "custom" front mask.

I like the idea, but I think it would look better if the stripe was white and the bottom was black.

That's just my opinion of course.

thats a cool project!! i want to do something like that someday!
but i would go with the duratec 2.3 lol

I think I'll paint my 88 supercab like that number 20 first gen, not going to do a roll cage though.

and from the looks of it, those are like the rims on my BII on that number 20, so that will be a little easier too.

BUT, if I can find it, I want to put a 460 auto in my ranger.
