My credo
Give 'yer balls a tug. Fight me.
Ya'll know I'm a euro performance nerd, but this is seriously ludicrous.

Bugatti finally put the Chiron through a top speed test. A freaking factory car broke 300mph on a track.

No idea how they engineers got around the weight issue caused by the driver's massive testicles. ?

That's figured into the CG calculation. Sticker on the driver's visor states " your balls must be this big" (with outline of the size) to drive this car.

I did notice the blurb above calls it a "purpose built" car. Not sure how far that strays from a normal production model. Maybe not much.

Somebody strap a rocket on the back of rusty 2.0 and ill give that bugatti what for.

Douglass tires, valucraft brakes, chinese wheelbearings and all. I aint scared.

300mph from a "factory" car though is pretty impressive.

But ill bet within a year they'll be a story about a factory dodge challenger helldemonroadrunnercat with some 1000hp V8 breaking that record for less then 80k. Seems to be the theme lately.

Good luck with that. American or otherwise, it will take a lot of engineering to hit those speeds and not end up scattered in pieces. As far as power, that Bugatti makes almost 1600hp. They had to extend the stock Chiron body work ten inches and play with exhaust placement just so the exhaust gasses wouldn't cause instability.

I was being kind of tounge in cheek honestly.

That would make for some awkward positioning to compare your own size. Hopefully they relocate that sticker somewhere that's more easily accessible.

Kinda reminds me of the song "hot rod lincoln"

It's got a four barrel carb, and dual exhaust
With four, eleven gears you can really get lost.
It's got safety tubes, but I ain't scared
Brakes are good, tires are fair.../QUOTE]

Nah. The 2.9s got this.

Look at all that German engineering.

I think my Milwaukee fuel drill actually does have more torque than a 3.0...

You sure thats a 2.9?

I thought only 3.0s used a powerdrill for torque?

Yup. Testing the 3.8 crank pulley I made fit.

Oddly enough, I think this blown up block with no heads and a Dewalt on the crank would outrun a 3.0

Wait so that engine you fit the pulley too is dead? I'm lost.... I thought that's the one you were building for the super charger? Or is that all going on the one in your truck now with the weirdo water system?

Engine I was fitting stuff to is a dead 2.9. Got it in a parts truck with two blown heads, and each head gasket blown in 3 places (it still ran). Block may be shot as there's at least a 1mm gap around the pistons. So its my mock up engine for making brackets.

Yep, supercharger is going on my truck with water/methanol injection, Megasquirt, Scorpio intake, etc. The methanol/water system is for keeping the rotors cool, and to improve efficiency in the intercooler. I'm going to have to overdrive the thing at a 2:1 drive ratio, which means it'll get toasty.

And yup, it will still be my daily driver.

I do have a spare running 2.9 with 103k miles and world heads on it as well in case I eyeball the math sideways.
