I have a 2000 xlt supercab. It has new pads and shoes, but I am going to be towing a trailer for work soon. Really screws up my plans for the truck.
What can I do to upgrade the braking power of the truck without spending lots of money? I am already doing an explorer rear axle for disk brakes very soon, so any upgrades for explorer rear or the stock front brakes? Really don't want to spend lots of money because it is all out of my pocket and not for something I wanted to do (i.e. tow a work trailer) but if I crash it's all on me.
Will swapping in newer components with bigger rotors be my best bet, or is there something else? Hope this is the right spot for this.
