Hey everyone,

I have had this issure for the last 20k where between 900 and 1200 RPM the engine will miss to the point where it starts bucking and backfiring. It's driving me :tease::pissedoff: and i cant track it down to anything. No codes and I hooked up a scan tool and the fuel trims were good. I replaced a cam sensor and it ran well for 5 days then got worse lol. I have also replaced the temp sensor, IAC, timing belt, TPS, cam sensor for a second time, and cleaned the MAF.

Has anyone ever had a problem related to this?? I have a 97.

Thanks,

Nik

It would not be difficult to check the resistance of your plug wires. With internal gaps, they can cause the engine to run poorly, as if some cylinders were shut off, and snort and buck. If you get OL in the DVOM screen, get some new ones. I do not remember the number but it was something like 1k ohm per foot of length... Look it up.

Unplug EGR Valve's vacuum hose and plug the hose, then go for a drive

This will test if EGR valve is being opened too much at lower RPMs, fouling the air/fuel mix
