Bubba rope

No, only thing I've ever used has been a tow strap once in a while, or a winch if available.

The Bubba rope stretches and the rebound pulls the rig out.

Isn't that what a recovery strap is? My strap stretches then at the end of the stretch it gets solid.

Bubba ropes are sweet but dang, for the price you can pretty much buy a smitty 8k winch lol

Yeah I've used them... They work great; but with a rope you have to have 2 rigs.

Winch, as long as the cable and tree saver reaches something you're probably okay. I just have a smitty 8k winch, 30' strap, and 6' tree saver...

The problem with the winch is its too slow. Its much faster to hook up a strap and yank.

Yeah. I thought about getting like a 40k lbs break strength strap then I looked at Bubba rope and I'm not sure. All of my wheeling buddy's have winches and ill be picking one up soon. Idk if a Bubba rope is right for me. Probably pick one up eventually.

Has any one used the offbrand kinetic energy ropes?

Was reading there nearly half the price of a Bubba rope. Which means about the price of a normal strap.

Back when my Grand wagoneer was running, I used a strap to extricate these maroons who had their 1 ton pickup dug in to the axles in sand. We watched them dig themselves in, then, when it got old, Peter hitched up his strap to the wag. Popped the truck right out . It is a handy piece of gear.

I was under the impression that all "recovery" straps were designed to stretch as such, and that is was simple "tow" straps that were meant to remain a static length.

What is the max WLL of the bubba?

Winch is slower, but is better on a vehicle than some idiots liking to yank..
Properly recovering with a bubba rope is fine tho.

One time I used a picnic table to extricate a Japanese guy in a Focus from a beach on Presque Isle peninsula. He got himself dug into the bumper in the front.

I'm not sure on any specs of the Bubba. They only give the working load and it ranges from like 10k to 90k? Bubba rope stretches more and when you pull you don't get that yank cuz of its design its a smoother process.

I'm glad you mentioned the tow strap and recovery strap. I had forgotten they were different.

One thing to bear in mind with a recovery strap is the load limits. At one time I had to pull a lighter vehicle and only needed a 15-20' strap, but all I had was my 30' 20k recovery strap. So I doubled it up. And discovered that doubled up, with two lighter vehicles, it didn't stretch any appreciable amount, it was like using a tow strap. I was expecting it to stretch a little and help me but with both vehicles being under 5k pounds, it just didn't work.
