Bronco2 vs Jeep Cherokee

i have to disagree, because of the design of the TTB a BII will go further with the same tires every time for one simple reason, when the ttb suspension droops we know that wonderfull REDIC camber that we get, well thats PERFECT for thos i almost coulda been stuck situations, where ud be sitting on a solid axle that wont adjust jamber when u romp on it to give the tires a bit more bit on the inside edge.

its all about learning how to wheel the particular vehicle u are in

Sounds like it wasn't much of a Jeep anymore...

Neither are BII's when they are modded the same. I spent way too much on the BII's trying to get them perform like my old Jeep. I only put in $1,500 in my Jeep after I bought it and I put in over $2,600 in one BII alone to make it a trail worthy ride and the Jeep out performed it in every way. I will never buy another BII again. I will buy another older Cherokee whenever I decide to do so!! I will never buy another Ranger again...but I will keep mine until one day a buddy wants to buy it for their son or daughter...they know they will get a great lifted 2wd with low miles that I take very good care of.

I can't stand XJs for any number of reasons, gimme a B2 or Explorer any day.

TTB also makes a surprisingly effective speed brake... just a great big flat plate inches off the ground for snow and mud to hang you up on.

For a wheeler, I would rather have a solid axle. I don't really care for a XJ though...

i'm taking a b2 with ex's drivetrain and gonna have a cherokee front axle.. lol

the main thing the cherokee has is the stock solid axle, other than that... i say its driver, now when you get into aftermarket- the jeep wins b/c there is so much support for it.. but think about it.... jeep guys us OUR 8.8 in their yj's, tj's, and xj's...

Only if they can't find the desirable Dana axles.

i think the b2 would be a little bit better offroad stock for stock than the xj, u have to look at the nimbleness of the thing. with slight mods i'd say the b2 is better. d35 the front, whichll be stronger then d30, 8.8 rear...well we all know the jeep guys love to use em.

Dunno how the 2.8/2.9 would compare to the 4.0L I6...

They also had less than spectacular transmissions, but Chrysler doesn't have the best reputation for transmissions either. I never really hear much yay or nay about Jeeps though.

I would take a 8.8 over a Dana 44 for a rear axle anyday though. Dirt cheap, stupid common, strong and available with factory disc brakes.

The Ford 4.0 is ok powerwise, given the option I would replace even it with a V8.

The biggest + for a RBV is a real frame IMO. Explorer Sport, SAS if it suits you and you are set. Factory D35 if you like that route, 8.8, 4.0 and M5OD. They also has a wider frame than a BII or Ranger for more clearance for drivetrain modifications (like a fullsize transfercase)

Hada buddy with a cherokee that was the bigggest money pit I'd ever seen. Build your own perfect rig, and be happy with it.Personally I prefer Fords.
