Bronco II YJ ???

I parked next the a mid to late 90's jeep YJ in the other day and noticed that the wheel base for the YJ and my 89 Bronco II where pretty much the same. In fact the only major difference I notice was the frame behind the axle was longer. So my question is has some one put a Bronco body on a YJ frame? It would save a lot of time doing a sas swap.

Meh. I haven't tried it, but personally, I'd rather put the time into the SAS job. In the SAS you usually get a D44. Much stronger than the D30 on the jeep. Heck, if you already have a D-35 TTB on you B2 you are already better off than putting your body on a Heep frame.

It was more of a thought and not something I would actually do. I just wondered if it could be done. If you could fine a 4.0 in a YJ you get the sas swap and the 4.0L swap all in one. I don't know much about jeeps so I don't even know if there is a 4.0L YJ

Yeah, I think they used to put the straight 4.0s in the YJ. Its a cool thought, and if you had a B2 with a bad frame and a good body and a YJ with a bad body and a good frame it might be worth a go.

The YJ wheel base is 2" longer just eye balling with a tape measure.The other thing I notice is that the YJ frame is quite a bit wider than the B2 frame is.
