My bedcage is being built this week and I heard these fit right between the frame rails on a Ranger. But is the sending unit and everything bolt up the same? I can get a tank for free so can someone help. Also how many gallons are they?

23 gallons for B2. The gauge and the sending unit are not compatible the gauge reads funny. The other thing is 86 87 and some 88s I understand runs a low pressure pump in the in the tank Hi pressure on the frame use the ranger pump.

The later sending unit will fit the B2 tank with minimal fuss. You have a bigger problem if you are trying to use a B2 tank. It doesn't fit.

The B2 tank fits in between the frame rails, but it's much deeper than the ranger's rear tank and the filler neck is no where close to being in the right spot. If you are looking to make a twin tank Ranger early 90's E-van square tanks are a much better option. They fit funny because of depth, but the filler is in the right spot, the pump apparently works, and they are a better size.

Now if you aren't running a bed, none of that matters and you can just slap the B2 tank on there and go go go.

I want it to sit on top of my frame rails, well maybe about a foot deep. There will be no bed on the truck, just fiberglass fenders and a bedcage. So what all would I need to make a bronco 2 tank work? Not worried about the filler neck, I'll just mount it on the cage somwehere.

Maybe the OE straps and some sheet metal. Something to fab up a way to keep it still.

I'm not sure about correcting for the fuel gauge, but I know that the HP pump can be mounted to the earlier sending units.
