so, heres my list of questions...
1 how hard is it to convert from front coil springs to leaf springs? what kind of fabrication might i need?
2 how would i put a lift on it if i did convert?
3 i want to do the Cummins 4bt swap, so if anyone has done it or has any input on cost, things ill need, ect. then please let me know.
4 when i back out of a driveway or parking space my BII makes a really loud annoying screaching nose. i'm pretty sure its the powersteering, but i oncould be wrong. and this think drinks power steering fluid like its water. any way to solve those problems?
5 when i go to "key on" it takes anywhere from a few seconds for a few mintues for my front fuel pump to come on. its a huge inconvenience. and i really need to know how to solve this problem, because me, and my brother in law and his father (both are long time mechanics) are totally stumped, other than change the keyswitch then if that doesnt work change the wiring.
if anyone can help me then please do. its much appreciated. i have the 1988 Eddie Bauer Overdrive Bronco II

#1 not really worth it unless you do solid axle swap.
#3 dont really know pobably alot of money and a big pain in the butt lol.
#5 maybe just bad pump or wiring not sure though maybe look around google or here in the search maybe its happend before.
the rest im not quite sure good luck maybe someone else will chime in.

#1.
Not really worth it even with a solid axle swap.
A set of 4WD 4.0L Supercab Ranger coils on your BII should be able to support a 4BT no problem (at the most you might need a couple washers to shim it for height). You would for sure want to get rid of the little D28 & 7.5" axles if you're planning a 4BT though (the D35 & Explorer 8.8" should be fine).

#4.
So it "drinks" PS fluid... where does it go? Must be a leak somewhere... I would say a seal somewhere in the system is due for replacement.

#5.
Maybe the fuel pump relay?

#1 Leafs are for a past age. Coils are far better for pretty much everything.

#2 Lift shackles or longer springs

#3 Talk to Snoranger

#4 Is it a PS screech or a tire rubbing screech? Also, the fix for the PS fluid issue is to find and fix the leak (really feel like that should not need to be explained).

#5 If the tank pump comes on right away but the rail pump doesn't I would suspect the pump, since they share a relay and power line.
