Bronco II feels like on power - Fuel Filter?

Hi i have an 88 Ford B II and it feels like it doesn't have all the power it should get. On the freeway i can't go past 75, if i downshift into 4th i can probably hit 80 but it wont do anything after that. I noticed that when i sometimes floored it, i felt the car shifting as if i just let off the gas really quick. Could it be a fuel filter? The car has been sitting for a few years before i picked it up. Also on a side note, sometimes when i pull up to a stop sign my engines hunts, not extremely, but i'd say like a 200 rpm hunt difference. When i climb hills it's just terrible, i have to drop at least 2 gears just to make it up there.

Most of time if the engine does that its either the vacuum hoses are leaking or you idle air control valve is getting bad.

Can i install a vacuum gauge to see if there's a leak? How can i install that?

On the rear of you intake manifold drivers side is a vacuum connector which has your fuel regulator and brake booster hoses. there are to capped ends on the connector. Use one of those. I changed all of my vacuum lines last weekend. Major change in run condition. It cost pennies to change the hoses. Easy job to do also. You will need 4, 6, 8 and 10 cm dia hoses. I bought a kit from siliconeintakes.com. cost me $61.00 for the blue hose kit.

Well i changed fuel filter, and it still has the same problem when i floor it. Idles fine and such, its just when i floor it when i rev the piss out of it, i can just feel the power cut back off and on, off and on. Do you think its a vacuum leak or idle air control valve like you mentioned? Dad also mentioned it might need a tune up like spark plugs, wires etc, but wouldnt that cause the engine to shake and not fire on all 6?

EDIT: I hear a humming noise coming from the engine bay sitting inside the car, people say its from an Idle Air Control Valve i usually hear it only when it idles, the hum is barely noticeable, you gotta have good ears.
