jesus I only have 2.75 inches to work with which rules out alot of good fans.....Looking like im going to have to deal with 1000-1300 cfm fans. Is that going to be good enough to cool this engine in traffic? Any good fan recommendations at a decent price for that depth. Im using the aluminum advance adaptors radiator by the way

Are you going to be running a pusher or puller fan ? Which side of the radiator will give you more room for a fan ? I just picked this one up for my set up . . . . . I'm going to be using a pusher fan tho because I had to move the engine all the way up to the radiator .. ..

you seemed to answer your question.

engine placement and radiator type and placement are the main key factors.

when you compromise one ideal, you usually have to change up stuff down and upstream.

engine final location at "a", can use fan "b" with radiator type "c" if radiator is in location "d" and so on.

no easy answer. save for all of the fan dimensions available in the world.

i have had guys tell me it is impossible to fit a taurus fan in a 4.0 or 5.0 trucks.

all i can do is laugh about that. it sure as hell rules out 3 foot wide radiators and v8 diesel swaps.:dunno:

i would not be afraid to clearance the grill and put a taurus fan up front anyway depending on the application.

Taurus fan wouldn't fit in my Ranger ( as a pusher fan ) with the 4.0 radiator . If the clearance in the bronco is as the rangers then the pusher fan I posted may work for your set up.

if the radiator is in the stock location it will fit.

you just have to make it fit.

Do you cut it out of the shroud its molded in ? Or did you have to fab the front to get it in there ?

Im running a Taurus fan in mine with a 5.0 and explore rad. I didn't get the engine back as far as I wanted so I had to cut the core support a bit too get the rad to fit.

puller fan i guess the only way to use a pusher is cut up the grille and cut out the core support which id rather not do but 2.7 inches is not alot to deal with in the front

yeah i doubt a taurus fan would fit as a pusher or a puller with this radiator/5.0 setup just not enough room. The engine is as far back as i could get it as well. Was that pusher fan enough to cool your motor down during traffic and at idle?

please post some pics and give me an idea!

I ran two 10" fans with a mounting depth of 2.25", flowed 2400 cfm, combined. It was adequate, but heated up on the trails. I was planning to run 4 eight inch fans, but have since changed designs...

your style truck has a good 5 inches more room forward, and i have 7 inches to a standard water pump here and could squeeze a taurii fan in there

on edit, the grill is modified as well and cut down on the inside for clearance.

any pics of your setup...this advance adaptors radiator i have doesnt have alot of surface area to work with....17x16 i believe so im pretty limited. I may look into the two 10 inch fan options.
