I recently chopped mine. I welded the rear hatch section to the back of the cab. Then I built a rigid soft top metal frame that bolts or clamps to the bed rails which is based on pics kindly provided by 84BroncoII on this forum. Haven't made the soft top yet but hopefully soon. I cut the hatch in two using lower as a tailgate and the upper with the glass can serve as a back window. If I can get the rear glass shortened a little, I'll add a frame at the bottom that a soft tonneau will snap to. Not sure how it will hold up but I drilled a hole in each end of the fiberglass tailgate and slid a 1 1/2" piece of conduit all the way thru which fits perfectly over F150 hinges. I cut a slot out of one end of the conduit so the tailgate can be removed just like a Ranger. Still have a lot of work to do before it is completed.
