Doesn't 100ftlbs seem like alot. I thought 70 was the number but I could be wrong.

I agree with naford, heck my F350 only torques to 110! Are you sure of your torque wrench setting and calibration? I send mine in once a year for calibration.

The fault is all mine...I didnt check to make sure the wheel was flush against the hub. I've learned my lesson. Thanks for all the help.

You are wrong. 1/2" wheel studs get torqued to 100 ft lbs.
