ever wonder what your ranger looked like without a front cilp? as some of you may have saw, my 91 ranger was wrecked, I started on it yesterday. this fix is going to go pretty deep i am guessing, I hope everyone likes pictures because there will be alot of them. i did start pulling on the frame, the drivers side is almost straightened, the passenger side may need a new front section about 4 inches past the spring, the front inner clip was fun to get off, ALOT of spotwelds, i might be able to straighten the inner fender aprons and reuse them, the pass. side rad support mount will definetly have to be replaced. If it was not for the cross brace under the oil pan, I would not be doing this thread right now, I would be crying my eyes out, (more). the hood should just need a little buffing and it will be fine.

its a start. I hope you can find the front end pieces you need cheaply and without rust.

That frame looks pretty bad on the passenger side, after you get it all straightened out you might want to have the truck looked at by a frame specialist. Make sure it is true so you don't eat tires when you get it all back together.

Thanks for posting up the progress!

Ditto. I would honestly, be pretty hesitant about it but I know it's probably different in person, you know? Was the frame bent in any other way? did it twist somewhere else because of the impact?

Good luck with it! I'm looking forward to seeing it driving again...I'd be heartbroken if something happened to mine.

I'm willing to bet the whole frame is diamond, and probably a lot more sway than what you can see in the picures.

Don't put your cup right on the hood like that, use a coaster. It will leave water makers.

Your hood is going to need a full respray, it has what looks like broken paint, if it weren't for that then you could just buff it, and wax it. :)

IF there is a Pull-A-Part or one of those type near you, I would just get a new frame, my father -in-law had a 76 cheby truck that got hit in the side and bent the frame over like yours, he had it pulled and straighten out, but the truck never drove right and went through tires very quickly, even the back ones, and he had the alignment done to it several times.

Posted using a chewed up dog rug, and a girly magazine.

I agree with what others have said about the frame...... if it were me I would find one with a blown motor or trans and use that one for parts.... did something like that with 3 camaro's 2 79s and a 76....the 76 ran really good but the body was rotted out and no title..... one of the 79 was pretty trashed... just used the hood, nose and rear spoiler.... the other 79 had a blown 305, hood was junk and the nose was torn...used the motor and trans and wheels/tires from the 76,used the 79 body with the blown motor.... 3 cars into 1.... scrapped or sold what I didnt use... the car was yellow with a brown hood and nose, so I painted it flat black, aluminum slots in the rear and steelies up front... ended up selling the car for more than I had in it.... this was back in 1997.... $300 for the 76, the parts 79 I got for free and the one I used I paid $250 for it.... $550.... sold the car later for $1500
