Ok so I was going to replace my brake shoes today...and I took off the drum on the drivers side and here is what I find:

Kinda a dark picture, but you get the idea.

Here is what fell out:

The whole adjuster thing is all messed up...as in gone. Where abouts would I get replacements? Does it come as a whole bigger set? Or can I just get an assembly thing?

Bonus! I installed a Ebay Chip, Throttle Body Spacer, Intake Tornado and heres what happened! (click the link)

Easy fix. Brake shoes, hardware kit, adjuster kit. Can't tell by the pics but if the backing plate is good even better.

Oh, the drum looks kinda used up so replace those as well. Hell while yer at it new wheel cylinders. You should ALWAYS change the hardware when you replace shoes. Why most everyone doesn't is beyond me. A little spring like those get so much heat and abuse and they reuse them?????

Might be a little pricey but it's better than using the rear of the car in front of you to stop!

Adjuster kit sounds like the thing I need. Yes I already have the shoes and hardware kit so I think I should be good...and eh...I think I'll just get a pushbar...if I take a Ricer off the road I will consider my job done! :icon_thumby: :icon_twisted:

Make double sure that you have the shoes on the right way (not backwards like I did once) and the adjuster is turned up properly. Otherwise ^THAT^ happens.

That looks familiar.

I replaced both rear brake assemblies including drums and wheel cylinders for under a hundred bucks per side with autozoo parts.

The hardest part was remembering how to put it all back together and getting the spring back that I shot into my neighbors yard. I think the adjuster kit was less than $10 bucks and getting the spring back only cost a beer.
