I have a question regarding a 1995 Ford Ranger 6 cyl 4.0 with a manual transmission.

In regards to anti lock brakes, should anti lock brake pump be running with engine running, or does that just come on when needed ?

I lost the brakes on my pickup, and doing everything to restore them.

I do have brake pressure with engine off, but when engine is on, pedal goes to floor.

I replaced master cylinder, bench bled it, replaced booster and couple of lines off front brakes.

Bled entire system.

Am getting fluid - clean brake fluid to both calipers and rear wheel cylinders.

I was thinking issues is in anti lock break pump.

There are no bleed ports on pump as i can find, just lines in from master cylinder, and 3 lines off the back. Two go to front calipers and one to back.

How ro check pump operation and if pump fluid ?

Any ideas.

Thank you.

The ABS pump will only run when needed.

Rear brake adjustment will also affect pedal height. Try adjusting the rear brakes.
