Brake Pedal Turns Radio On.

All sound advice (get it? “sound” advice? Yuk yuk yuk), but have you simply tried telling the brake pedal very firmly not to flirt with the radio and vice versa? If you nip it in the bud, maybe nobody will get turned on.

My two cents, just trying to help

On a more serious note, if you get the model and serial numbers off the head unit, you can look online and you can find the color coding for the wires. I put in something like a 2001 unit into my 97 Ranger with one of those adapters. I had a couple minor problems. I got the wire chart and traced it down, and there were two wires in the aftermarket connector that were backwards. The whole thing took me about 30 or 40 minutes. And once you learn how to trace the wires with the color coding, you won’t need the adapter anyway, you can just splice them in. It’s a very valuable skill if you fiddle with old trucks and cars, and it’s actually very simple, but for some reason it spooks everybody.
