It's coming to that time again: I've gotta start thinking about replacing the front brake pads on my '94 Ranger.

Any advice on pad types & brands I should look at?

I like NAPA Ceramix pads. Good feel, little dust, and don't cost an arm and a leg.

Just take them off, they aren't that important.

I've always just used Motorcraft pads/shoes on my stuff. Mostly because I work at a dealership and the price is right, but I have nothing bad to say about them.

Seriously, I use Napa Truestop most of the time. Ceramix and Motorcraft are as very good. I'd recommend any of the three.

I just put some Wearever Ceramix gold brake pads and rotors all the way around on somebody's Dodge Stratus and they seem to stop pretty good, so I bought a front set of pads for my Windstar van. They were about $40 per set, but if you order them on the Advance auto parts website and use the PS20 code it will give you 20% off if you spend more than $100.

My next ones will be Duralast Gold Cmax. Heard a lot of good things about them and they have a lifetime warranty. When they get bad just take them back and get another set for free.
