Trying to replace the rear wheel cylinder on my "03 Ranger. I can loosen the brake line nut, but the hard brake line starts to turn with it. Any tricks to keep from twisting the brake line?

Heat and lube.

Short loosen and tighten motions.

Repeat until it comes free...

Give the rear brake line a good hard look, if it wants to rumble it may be time to just replace it to the block on the diff.

You could try Gumps method. In my opinion, when it does that it’s time for replacement.

Gump's method works about 50% of the time for me. If it doesn't work, the brake line is junk and hopelessly rusted, just need to replace it at that point.
