My truck's brake lights will come on as soon as I push my brake pedal (fine, normal), but with any movement of the pedal outward, the lights go out, and of course come back on if the pedal is pushed in again.

This is different than other cars I know. Usually the brake lights will only go out once the pedal is fully released, not as soon as it starts to be released.

This generally causes my brake lights to flicker as I modulate my brake pedal.

Is this normal behavior for gen3 rangers or do I have a brake light switch that is either after-market or going bad?

Funny, backing into my garage the other day I noticed mine does this too. Maybe that is just how the switch on the brake pedal is set up
