what is the easiest way to change out the brake fluid? ive never done it before so i hope there is a way that can easily be done.

Top off the reservoir with fresh fluid while bleeding each brake caliper until you see clean fluid. That's it.

Use a old turkey baster or something and suck the fluid out of the reservoir. If you are by yourself you can just crack the bleeders, starting with r/r, and let it gravity bleed. (it'll take awhile). If you have friends you can just pump/bleed the old stuff out while keeping the reservoir with new fluid.

:agree: Gravity bleed

Or you can use a Mity vac which uses a vacuum pump to pull it out. I just did mine today on my 2002 which I bought used about 5 months ago. The fluid was pretty bad with a lot of small particles in it. The right rear bleeder was the toughest to get loose. When I finally got it loose, it was clogged with gunk. I pulled that one all the way out to clean it off and reinsert it. I used about 16 oz. of DOT 3 to flush the system with just a bit left over. The fluid in the reservoir looks clean now.

Mity vac, or the pressure bleeder I have works well, I run DOT4 since i get the BMW stuff free lol

with a turkey batser unless you bleed from the lines the old fluid from the lines will just recirculate with the new fluid then youve just got new/old fluid mixed togther in the resvoir but its a quick way of doing it
