brake bleeding

Hi, never leaked. Issue is the right rear brake tube broke. 35 years old and it gave up the ghost. Picture shows the fitting. There is a hole on the end like an air fitting. Having a hard time getting a tube around it. It screws in to seal and loosens to let the fluid out the end. I have had it worked on before by local shops and maybe they changed it to make it easier on them but harder on me?

Those are likely speed bleeders... I've never used them. Some people do i guess. Check Out the following...

Should also mention...

After 35 years a line popped from rust. I'll guarantee the remaining lines are an accident waiting to happen. Look att all of them closely. It's also past time to change the brake system rubber lines unless they've been done already.

Yeah, this too. Considering he’s in PA, once one goes, the rest usually aren’t really far behind. I’ve taken to just doing all new copper/nickel line with stainless fittings. Just have to replace the rubber lines now and then, although I’m wondering if stainless braided would last longer…
