2.5 acres 3 bed 2 bath

not bad for a first home. i figured with the housing market in collapse and waaaayyy past depression that it was the best time to at least get some lube before the bank bent me over. i spend less than rent on this house. and i OWN it! now if only the fed could stop just printing money then my property would actually be worth what it was appraised at. inflation blows.

you can see my 88 on the left.

Very nice! I'm in the market also, if you don't mind me asking, about what did you pay?
And where is the big shop out back?;)

its coming its coming. first i have to either get rid of the jetta or pay it off (ughh!) and then i can fix up the house. its appraised at $115k and i paid $80k. i offered the bank $70k first and they countered with $100k, i countered with $70k and they tried again at $93k. i came up to $75k and they offered $78k plus closing. i told them to throw in a termite letter and a year warranty and its all good.

Wow, 80K, buying a house and 2.5 acres here in Provo, UT is unheard of. All the small 2 bed 1 bath homes with a tiny lot run from 130-150k, it's crazy. I have seen trailer homes going for 70k....
Where are you located? Sign me up!

athens ga. its kind of too late now. the fed has cut interest rates too low. the investors cant make money that way. the dollar is too undervalued to to the inflation the rate cuts caused. i just hope the bottom doesnt fall out before i pay it off.

if i could get rid of this car i can devote a whole paycheck to this house and have it off in 16years. thatd be awesome!

congrats!, i just bought a house this past summer. Much better then handing a rent check over every month.

Right on. Good to see people can actually afford a nice house. That house out here with the acreage would sell between $400K-$500K no joke. You literally cant buy a shack out here for $80k.

i moved here from cali with my mom a while back. i dont remember much but i do remember her complaining about the cost of things.

i bought a 16x80 on 2.33 acres of land with a 35x45 foot shop and i paid 85,xxx for it

(the shop was the selling point)

and that was the only house in my price range too!!! under 125k that is but preferably under 100k, houses around here are going for 100k+, if you spend under 100k then most likely you are in a trailer.....

geeze, seems like you cant even buy a decent car up here for that much...

our housing market has gone through the roof here in BC canada.

Looks like you did well! any garage for the Ranger? From what I can tell it looks like its worth it anyways, a house like that here in that condition would be around 350k.

Wow, I'm jealous. blk02 was right, up here in BC it costs like $350,000 to get a newer 1400sq/ft townhouse, a decent house is well over $500k usually, and that's without any yard.:fie:

Nice score on the house, now build the shop!

Congrats on the new house!

They just built a brand new subdivision literally around my neighborhood. New houses their start at a million and go up from their. The lots alone start at 500,000 and its for less than an acre. Which around me people seem to think that an acre is a lot of land. I dislike developers who build on farms.

well, now i feel EXTREMELY lucky b/c my house was built in 02
