Can anyone tell me if there is chassis wiring beneath the trim piece that connects the floor carpet to the rocker panel ? The screws holding it down have all rusted out. Wondering if I can drill the old screws out and just replace them. Thanks for any ideas.

I'm not sure for your year model. But, obviously, there is clearance for the screws. So there is clearance to drill the screws. Just don't go too far away from the screw towards the interior of the truck. I'm thinking you have at least 1/2" of clearance there. But don't quote me on that. All you need to do is drill/grind the head off anyway. Then you can pull the trim off and get a vice grip on the remainder of the screw.

there is a harness under the carpet/mat in that area.
you should be able to access the screws from underneath with vice grips if there isn't enough left of the tops.

I had to drill out mine. 6 months from new (2007) they had rusted out. I replaced them with stainless steel fine thread flat head stove bolts just a touch larger, and just powered them in with a drill driver. Still good at 177,000 miles. There weren’t any wires close to the screws.
