YES I said BOLT ON!!

Get a bracket from either fortes or northracecars.com. on an 03 ranger an 03 cobra rear soft line will bolt on to the factory hard line and run right to the cobra caliper. now to do it you have to pull the axle shafts to remove the backing plate and bolt on the new caliper bracket. once its on you put the axles back in, slide the rotors on and bolt on the calipers. once they are bolted on attach the brake line and bleed.
you can either modify the factory parking brake cables or just use universals to hook the parking brake up.

Here is the braket mounted to the axle with the rotor and caliper on.

here is how I ran the factory hard line to cobra soft line to caliper set up. if I had more time I would have gotten a custom soft line and bent a shorter hard line.

All mouted up with the wheel off

how it looked when first done. I have been running these for a year next month.

exact mod my little brother is getting ready to do. now i've been thinking about it. solely based on how the e-brake is...with that spring thing. The addition of having venting rotors are nice compare to the solid rotors on expos. I've got full expo rear brakes waiting to install on my 31spline Ranger axle.....so it's a toss up for me.

Awesome mod man.

Nice Job. 4 wheel disc brakes are amazing.

Do you want to do a write up so we can put it in the Tech Library?

I can try, But I have to take a safety class so I can use a bay here on post or I have no where o workon anything. I also have cobra 13" front brakes on my truck. there are uprgrades out there, it cost me about 1300 to do front and rear cobras on my truck.

See if you can do that write up. It will be really handy for others.

Yeah, the hardest thing to do is taking the axles out to get the backing plate off. once you do that it is pretty simple.

This conversion looks awesome. Is this for the 28 spline axles and how much did it cost total?

for just the rear it was $150 for the brackets from northracecars, $50 for the cobra braided rear lines, and $200 for the calipers, and $75 for the rotors. you could do it cheaper by not getting brand new calipers or shopping ebay, and using rubber lines instead of braided. so the total ws about $500. yes its for the 7.5 or 28spline 8.8 but currie does have beackets thatll fit the 31spline 8.8 for $150 as well.
