1994 B4000 when warm @ about 45mph starts bogging and lurching plus acceleration slows. Tach stays steady. At same time the speedometer starts reading about 60-65 mph when actually doing about 50-55. Speed sensor on engine or transfer case?

what are the specs on the truck, just saying it has a 4.0 doesn't help really

My kid bought this truck last week and now it's my problem I guess. I have to get back to you on this. As far as I can tell it is all stock with 129k on it. nothing looks modified.

iirc having tires slightly smaller than stock causes the speedo to read a tad fast. compare the tire size to the size printed on the door jam on the drivers side to make sure.

Also, is it an auto or manual trans?

Judging by the symptoms alone, it is an auto, and the problem is probably in the trans. Sounds almost like it is skipping a gear, jumping over 3 and shifting straight from 2nd to OD, or locking up the converter too early.

The speedo reading wrong and it's coincidence with the issue points to an auto trans as well. And if it does have a bad speed sensor, it can cause all of that.

The only problem I have with all of this, is that a 94 has a cable-driven speedo yet. Check the tire size and gear ratio, make sure they are correct to the truck.

Thats what i was thinking, but you never know haha

Damn. Sorry gents, it has an automatic. What is wierd is that below 45 the speedometer follows the gps. When I reach 45mph and the lurching starts, that is when the speedometer starts to read high. The tires are proper size. Thanx for help, digging into it tomorrow.

Fuel pump sock caused my lurching and bogging.. Check the Fuel filter and fuel pump sock at a last resort
