Hey, I have a 88 b2 2.9 4x4. I recently acquired a same year truck with a disc brake 8.8 rear and Dana 30. Also has a 4.0 swapped in it that I would like. Only problem is this new b2 has no title. Is a body swap hard to do and how risky is it to do if I don't plan on selling either truck? Thanks.

The frame isn't VINed on those years. I'd swap bodies and not look back. As long as you don't touch the tags themselves, nobody is ever going to figure it out.

As for difficulty, two cherry pickers and two large straps and up she comes.

I was able to pick up a b2 body with one picker. It was already gutted and loose on the frame. The doors, fenders and hood were off. I removed the rear door and poked the picker arm thru the back. One strap where the doors used to be and another thin strap at the rear body bolt holes. Up she came and rolled the frame out from under. I never did do the same setup to put the body back on so maybe 2 pickers is the easier way....

Not to mention these rigs are so old and have so little value that no-one is going to be checking vins and that sort of thing.

I'd body swap personally.
