By BII has had quite a bit of rattle lately. Some undercarriage thumps, but most is from the liftgate and spare tire carrier. One of the liftgate latches is misaligned and I have had bigger fish to fry lately. So it has been a bit on the loud side lately.

So today I go out to the store, don't notice anything in particular, had the radio up (usual solution to the rattles). Well I start to head home and radio was off and something wasn't right. It was too quiet. No squeaks and rattles, engine even sounded significantly quieter inside the vehicle.

I am puzzled by this till I realized that the storm last night and continuing freezing drizzle today had encased by BII in ice and while I scraped off the windows, the liftgate was frozen in place and all the little gaps filled with ice and even the spare tire carrier had enough to keep it from moving and hadn't fallen off in the couple miles to the store.

I enjoyed a nice quiet ride home.

I have a feeling it is too good to last :(

Now if I can somehow patent that!!

Wish I had thought of that before opening my lift gate.

I have the same noise because the LR corner is pushed in and my gate doesn't latch at all on that side.
