Does anyone know how to revove the body mounts on a 89 BII.? I can get a socket on the nut at the bottom but the top "disappears" into a small crossmember that goes across the floor pans. The front two are easy , just behind the radiator. The middle two I cant figure out, and I can't even find the rear two. Any help is appreciated

You gotta pull up the carpet and then you will see some rubber plugs and that is your access to the top bolt head

There is the two by the radiator.

There are two on the driver and passenger floor pans (you have to pull up the carpet and pop the rubber plugs)

There are two directly behind the front seats (again, pull up the carpet and pop plugs)

There are FOUR in the back. Two at the very back edge (pull up the carpet) and IIRC two right behind the back seats (pull up the carpet).

In theory the four back ones require you to drop the gas tank. I have done it without dropping the tank (requires some nimble hands, a "shorty" deep well socket, and a swivel.. plus pulling the plastic trim piece between the body and rear bumper).

You may find an extra set of hands is a great help for the task as well.

i was under the impression there is only 8 on a b2? :icon_confused: 4 on each side

Nope, there's a total of 10, and I got the experience of replacing all ten on my choptop not all that long ago. Despite the body and frame being largely rust-free, the bodymounts were not, every one of 'em was a frozen bolt.
