grade 8 are stronger, but when you reach their limit, they just break. grade 5 bolts will give or bend a little before breaking when their limit is approached. either should work well enough for your purposes.
Um not really strvger. A grade 5 bolt will stretch to its yield point long before a grade 8 bolt will. It will stretch farther than a grade 8 bolt will but it will break before the grade 8 even yields. So like I said before the grade 8 is stronger and safer to use.
Anyone notice that most kits come with class 8.8 bolts(mine did, but ended up using grade 5 since I broke all the original nuts and stuff)? They're equivalent to grade 5.
Yeah I know, but I'm a firm believer that anything that a grade 5 can do a grade 8 can do better. And when it comes to something as important as holding your cab to its frame why skimp? The grade 5 is probably stronger then the steel the cab is made of but in single sheer like that I don't trust them.
