body lift

awesome. go ahead remove your bedliner if you have one and start soaking all your bodybolts, bumper bracket bolts, and that steering extension with PB Blaster or liquid wrench. You'll thank me haha.
Oh and you could even go ahead and pull the corners of the carpet up or remove it so you can get to the cab bolts. I just removed mine completely and pressure washed it to get it clean while i was waiting on my lift.
Makes it much easier when you go to put the lift on when all the prep work is already done.

yeah man start shooting all the bolts with WD-4 or similar. and expect the front ones to fight a while, so be ready lol

Yea that's a good idea, im not worried about the bed bolts so much since I've had the bed off so many times, but its a good thing the kit comes with bolts cause the first time I took my bed off to replace the fuel pump, two of them snapped.

And last night I noticed on my way home from a friends house my headlights starting to dim up on the road then I looked at my guage cluster and saw that the volt gauge was in the red and my first thought was wtf, lol but I made it home and poped the hood and started to check all the wires and noticed that the ground cable on the back of the alternator was broken and the metal that surrounds it was melted and then also realized the connector was a little melted like a bead from a weld, so I was going to just replace the connector and started to remove the nut on the alternator for the ground and the whole damn screww part fell apart lol so now that's on my list to do also, and I tried getting out of work to fix it but my contractor just called me and he will be picking me up which kinda blows cause I would've takin a day off haha

Well I got a new alternator in my truck tonight and god damn it is cold out, plus I got my new cab mount bracket.

And I am going to get new body mount bushings what ever they are called for when I do the bl and ranger sport honduras I saw what you said about them earlier what mounts did you go with im thinking of going with james duff ones but I can't find them on the site lol, and correct me if im wrong and don't think im retarted for asking but the bed doesn't have the rubber mounts right?

i did my own lift blocks for the cab, actually a friend did em for me out of urethane. same material as the lift kits, i didnt do anything to the body bushings.

and yeah the bed has steel spacers, the bed has a small rubber piece on each bolt so the bed wont make noise rubbing against the frame. dont take out those rubber pads.

you can also find them from summit from energy suspension if you cant find the duff ones

Shifter extension can be purchased on ebay but its like $50or so, I'd just weld in a piece of rebar or something similar to the base of the shifter to raise it to the desired height.

I dont know where to get the steering extension. You may be able to find one from someone who removed a lift or may be able to get one directly from performance acessories.

I wouldn't advise it because im not sure how safe it is or how much extra stress is applied to the associated parts, but, i've helped piece together a body lift for a newer ranger almost 2years ago now, and we didn't use a steering extension. Truck is still driving around with no issues. Just food for thought.

Boggin has a 3" body lift on his truck without steering ext and has no issues. mine has no issues with a 2" and no extension either
