ive got a 95 ranger 4x4 ex cab.. stock it had 235s an now its got 31s.. i did a gear swap an swapped in explorer 4 door leaf springs an did the steel washers up front.. I know body lifts are cheap but i want about another inch or 2. an iam pretty much on a cheap budget..lol owning my 95, just picked up a 96 splash an getting my sled together money is pretty tight right now.. i can get 12 hockey pucks for about 12 bucks.. an usually hockey pucks are about an inch thick so these should be good for the amount of lift iam looking to do. what else am i going to need if iam just lifting an inch or so?:icon_idea: i know my bumpers are going to have to be moved up an iam going to need new bolts an hardware..

lifting only an inch or so, i THINK the only bracket your gonna need is for the fan shroud. I think you could even bypass that by just trimming the bottom of the shroud before you lift it. I personally dont care, I think its your decision, but your gonna hear a lot of bad stuff and "don't do it"s about the pucks. Why not just get a 3" bl? its more lift, works on a budget, and its safer than the pucks...

ya i kno iam gonna hear a lot about the "dont dos" of hockey pucks.. its a forum let every one "speak" freely.. in my opinion a 3 inch has to much of a gap.. thats why i only wanna go with a inch or so..

Hockey pucks are fine.....just make sure you use Grade 8 Bolts.

I seen a guy one time take beer cans, fill them with Cement, and run a bolt through it, there was his body lift.

I just did a 3" lift on mine. Yea its a gap but it can be fixed. Instead of using the kit brackets for the front bumper i just used stock holes; i put the lower hole on the bumper through the top stud on the frame and didnt use the top hole or bottom stud. The gap is better than stock and the bumper is still strong. Raise the rear bumper by moding the stock brackets and mount them inside the frame rails. On the bed/frame gap dont waste money on gap gaurds, make your own. Im currently making mine outta some type of old belt (conveyer?) and sheetmetal screws. This may not be perfect but im making it work for me. No problems yet

thanks for the input fellas. i was talking to someone yesterday about hockey pucks an they said well why not use a tennis ball.. i just looked at them funny lmfao.. i was thinking about taking a cheap garbage can an cutting it up an making mud flaps for the inside of the bed.. iam constantly getting mud behind the puny stock flap.

Yea somethin like the trash can might work. I dont know where you live but if its near any farms you could try getting some belt off an old hay bailer.(sp?) you could use it and completly replace the whole inner flap

thats a good idea.. i live up in northern ny.. every place around here is a farm haha

i think you should just drive your splash over to my place and i will give you my old bl...sounds good to me :P

rangernotlifted that looks good.. for now iam just gonna stay with an inch or so.. a 3 inch lift along with the 2 inch i already have would look odd with the 31s haha

actually they wouldnt as long as u get 31x10.50's my friends 89 has two inch suspension and three inch body and i put my tires on his truck and they look great

Yea, but the combined 5" on a gen 3 puts it higher up than your friends truck. I think. My 31s with the combined 5" looks kinda goofy. Fixin that problem tomorrow night with 33s though

i think it just depends on ur rims i mena i have those black steely rims from lesschawb pwdercoated black and it looks great but idk are generation threes taller then generation ones or twos

i dont think its that their really any taller its the bigger wheel well opening on the gen 3s vs the older trucks
