I am installing a body lift kit from a f-150 on my ranger but did not realize that there are a few more pieces not included in the body lift that is included in the ranger. I am wondering what the crush blocks are for and are they needed? Steering and shifter extensions may be a problem, they are not included, well, a steering pin is included but not the same type as my ranger.I read that the steering pin could be drilled an inch down and it would work but it seems alittle close to the end of the pin to work. The kit is installed but I will have to replace the radiator support, really bad rust and the front brackets for the body bushing are rusted out as big as the body bushing.Any ideas on easy fix and the chrush blocks??????:icon_confused:

It's better if you replace all of that stuff with new stuff. As for fixing it, I'll leave that to your imagination. The crush blocks are for the areas of the bed that are not supported by the body lift blocks. I'd recommend running them if you use the bed to carry heavy loads. You can make them from square/rectangular tubing. Then glue them in with RTV. No need to weld them onto the frame.

I made a extension for steering but it was binding, I replaced the shaft under the hood with one from an explorer, it had the universal instead of a piece of round rubber, works great now, shifter extension not needed yet because I havent bolted the cup holder back down. I will use 2 extra lift blocks under one channel and will get someone to weld up a pipe with a small plate on the top. Thanks for the responce.
