I'm about to install a 3 in body lift on my 98 ranger. It is a manual and says I only need a shift extension for a mazda transmission only. Does this mean I don't need the shift extension? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Your truck has the mazda 5speed. If you want your shifter at it's original height then get the extension. It's not really needed.

no welding necessary.

I'm thinking of my buddy's 91 or 92 toyota body lift, they provide 2 bars of steel you weld in after you cut the shifters for the 4wd and the tranny, pretty primative but it works i guess, lol.
