lets start the build.
Yesterday i picked up a 1991 ford ranger 4x4 extended cab with the 2.9l for $1300.
The things i need to fix first is it needs a starter rear window, and front shocks.
it has a leaking steering box but not to bad and mild rust on bed and the mirrors are shot.
it runs good with no lag or vibrations for having 160,000 miles on it.

I have some parts that from a recent build that will go on it asap. this includes 2in coil spacers and an add a leave. and 31in tires on steelies.

i will have pictures of the progress soon!:icon_thumby:

got to take it out with my friends explorer. the four wheel drive works. i noticed it has aftermarket overload springs. would these hurt my flex in the rear end?

the rust that is on the bed is falling off i started to cut it out. for now im going to trim the fenders in the rear off. i like the look of the uncut fenders in the front so it will stay that way. im going to start drawing up ideas for the bed.

i decided to roll the fenders in the rear and i might cut up the front.:icon_welder:

one question is can i put james duff extended radius arms with out lifting it. i want to fit 33 with only a 3in body lift. i plan on putting a 302 in the future. i want the most flex from a stock suspesion so im open to any ideas. the truck is not my daily driver i have a mustang

pulled the plugs and wires off. turns out they were the factory plugs in it. i put a new fuel filter and pcv valve on it as well. it will be needing a clutch soon. after thisis done i will start working on the body and doing some changes

Damn 91 original plugs, i thought my 98 was bad with original plugs.

some of the plugs were burnt past the plastic. one of the wires fell off as soon as i touched it.

today i cleaned the intake box the intake hose and the throttle body. the spring was about to fall of it. also did an oil change and found out the bolt was stripped and was blue glued sealed. im going to weld the bolt to it and put a new hole in it with after welding a nut in place.

not this week but next week i plan on doing a clutch on it. i know putting a 4.0 clutch helps behind a 2.9l im planing on doing 33 maybe 35 in time will a stock 2.9l clutch be ok?

Sweet truck. The 4.0 clutch upgrade will be nice. The 4.0 engine upgrade along with it would be even better!!!!!

my friend has a 4.0 that he will sell me for 200 bucks but it will need work. i also can buy a 5.0 for 200 bucks. as of right now the motor runs strong so im just going to try to use the 2.9 for as long as i can.

update i got some free steel rims which looks a whole lot better.

i also got the bed on the driver side done it looks good but im thinking about doing a straight or a prerunner cut on the bed.

so i got both sides done on the bed i decied it needed more strength. so i went to home depot and put a strip of aluminum behind it and revit it in place.

i almost have the bed done. i also put in a new radio. the big project was a clutch slave cyclinder and rear main. one bolt was missing and one was rounded off that was fun. then after pulling it all apart found a crispy animal of sorts (looks like i got dinner) now i just got to put it all together.:icon_thumby:
